Angela Zhang is an independent illustrator from Toronto, currently living in the Netherlands. As of 2022 she is creating an original art series fulltime, Shapes of Nature, which expresses environmental concerns through the re-imaging of fables in lost worlds. Each image portrays the way in which life adapts to the places and possessions that humans have abandoned. In doing so creatures and plants reshape the world as much as we have shaped theirs. As an amalgam of personal observation, long-forgotten fables, and real events, Shapes of Nature are imaginary ecosystems surviving in the face of extinction.
