Yael Brotman
Yael Brotman was born in Israel, her earliest years spent on a kibbutz. She arrived in Winnipeg as a child and eventually studied Honours English followed by Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba. She moved to Toronto after traveling in Europe for a year. Brotman received a Master of Visual Studies from the University of Toronto. Her drawings, prints and paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions in public galleries, museums, commercial galleries and artist-run centres across Canada, and in the US, Peru, Ireland, Bulgaria and China.
She is represented in the collections of the Canada Council Art Bank, The Universities of Alberta and Toronto, Ernst and Young, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Canada, the Toronto Stock Exchange, and the Sanbao Museum, P.R. China, among others.
