Annapoorane Rajagopal Valarmathy

Annapoorane Rajagopal Valarmathy is a design practitioner, born and raised in Chennai, India. She relocated to Canada to pursue her Bachelor of Design in Industrial Design at OCAD University. As part of her degree program, she created ‘Life Trajectories’ –a scaffolding experience that helps students navigate uncertainty through playful strategizing.

She is keen on creating engaging experiences and collaborating with others to co-create meaningful systems. In her spare time, she focuses on origami, writing, art, 3D printing, and other craftwork. As a maker, she focuses on using different materials like wood, paper, cardboard, cloth and plastic to explore artistic expression.

She enjoys facilitating play experiences with young children, taking the opportunity to learn from their curiosity and thinking. She takes inspiration from books she reads and implements different ideas in her practice. Some of her disciplines of interest include physics, math, biology and complexity science.
