Soberscove Press is a Chicago-based independent publisher of books about art and culture. Our books tend to explore modes and functions of documentation, engage with process, and connect historical themes and issues to the present. We publish many of our books in collaboration with artists. Founded by Julia Klein in 2009, Soberscove grew out of a desire to make little-known art historical documents accessible to a non-specialist audience. While the focus has broadened beyond art history, the majority of our books continue to foreground and engage with documentary and archival materials, illuminate process, and involve collaboration with artists.Find out more

TOMATO TOMATO TOMATO/Short Leash Editions is a collaborative publishing practice between Izze Norman and Emma Dwyer. TOMATO TOMATO TOMATO claims to publish books, but can’t agree on what counts as a “book”. We think “books” can be bodies and space for feeling and words printed on paper. The Creative Food Research Collaboratory germinates collaborations at the intersection of art and food studies, exploring how the arts can imagine—and therefore help to achieve—food security, food sovereignty, and food justice in Canada and across the Americas.
Embassy Cultural House
The Embassy Cultural House (ECH) is non-hierarchical and inter-generational, which paves the way for inclusive and open opportunities for artists, writers, cultural workers and other cultural advocates. Our most recent publication is Not/For the Money, launched January 22nd, 2026, is an extension of our online exhibition of the same title. In 2024, the ECH published an anthology, An Alternative Cultural History of London, Ontario: Art & Activism. This anthology introduces important and essential cultural material to a generation that has not had access to such documents. Since January of 2021 the ECH has published 10 publications.
