Sarah Comfort is an artist based in Toronto, ON. Her work explores the relationship between images and their material forms, often using photo-based media in combination with other processes including photopolymer etching, electronic jacquard, drawing and collage.

Sarah has an MFA in Studio Art from Concordia University and undergraduate degrees in Studio Art and Art History from Emily Carr University and York University. She’s been awarded studio residencies at the Banff Centre (Banff, AB), Atlantic Centre for the Arts (New Smyrna Beach, FL), Women’s Studio Workshop (Rosendale, NY) and MASS MoCA/Maker’s Mill (North Adams, MA), shown work at Trestle Gallery (Brooklyn, NY), Collar Works Gallery (Troy, NY) and Form and Concept (Santa Fe, NM), and is member of the Advisory Board at Critical Distance Centre for Curators.
