Ruth Adler Artist

Born in Winnipeg, Ruth Adler lives and works in Toronto and Tel Aviv. Her artwork includes paintings, digital works on paper, animation and textiles and has been exhibited internationally since the 1980s. Jeannette Ehlers Artist

Jeannette Ehlers’s work is characterized by its experimental nature. Often using image manipulation in her photographic and video-based works, she explores identity and meaning within these changeable terms, in both subtle and immediate ways. Inspired by her own Danish/Caribbean background, she has created cinematic universes that delve into ethnicity and identity, conveying imaginative stories in a visual language that is sharp yet engaging. Her works revolve around big questions and difficult issues, such as Denmark’s role as a slave trading nation, an aspect of Danish cultural heritage that is often glossed over in the country’s historiography. Tamara Gayer Artist

Tamara Gayer is an artist transfixed by the city. Suspended between the impulses of an image maker and  those of a builder she creates work that mutates from drawing to installation to video. Born in NYC, Tamara Gayer grew up in Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv. She holds a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA from Hunter College. Her work has been shown at Foxy Production, Exit Art, and Smack Mellon in NY, as well as internationally, and she is represented in the collections of several prominent institutions including the Museum of Modern Art. Nadège Grebmeier Forget Artist

Engaged in Montreal’s visual and live arts community since 2007, performance artist Nadège Grebmeier Forget embraces interdisciplinarity and curation in her practice. She is the first daughter of a runner-up 1960’s California Beauty Queen and has, among other things: enacted works for Karl Lemieux (The Seven Last Words, 2018), Teresa Margolles (La Promesa, 2017), Dana Michel (Balls, 2016), Olivia Boudreau (Standing Bodies, Lying Bodies, 2014), Christiof Migone (Hite Parade, 2008); collaborated with Henrike Iglesias (Sophiensale/OFFTA, 2016), PME-ART (Festival actOral/Leonard & Bina Ellen Gallery, 2014) in addition to participating in numerous events, festivals, panels, residencies and exhibitions in Canada (Québec, Ontario, Alberta, Newfoundland, PEI), the USA (Texas) and Europe (France, Germany, Romania). Roula Partheniou Artist

Roula Partheniou‘s current practice explores the replica and how the remaking of a familiar object can shift our perception and perspective. Her projects tend to take the form of sculptural installations that make use of hyper-real trompe l’oeil, material puns and colour cues to deconstruct the familiar and trigger a reconsideration of common forms. Reproduced to various degrees of verisimilitude, and an experiment with the edge between representation and abstraction, her objects question how we see and read objects and challenge the viewer to negotiate between the perceived and the actual.
