EXHIBITION: In House 2017 | Benefit Art Show + Silent Auction for Paperhouse Studio

Featuring Yael Brotman, Melanie Chikofsky, Doug Guildford, Tessar Lo, Tim Manalo, Roula Partheniou, Meghan Price, and Natalie Wood. Curated by Sonya FilmanCritical Distance is pleased to host the second annual In House Benefit Art Show.

For 2017, Paperhouse Studio has collaborated with eight emerging and established artists to create new work exploring contemporary approaches to working with handmade paper. These artists, whose practices feature an emphasis on materiality and process, took to working with handmade paper in a myriad of different ways. The resulting works highlight strong interconnections between notions of labour and temporality, contextualized in relation to personal histories, geologic time, and commonplace objects.

Please join us on February 24th at 6 pm for an Artists’ Panel Discussion at Paperhouse Studio (Suite 102), followed by an opening reception with the curator and many of the artists in the exhibition at Critical Distance (Suite 302) from 7–10 pm. Participate in a draw for the chance to win a variety of exciting prizes!

Featuring work by Yael Brotman, Melanie Chikofsky, Doug Guildford, Tessar Lo, Tim Manalo, Roula Partheniou, Meghan Price, and Natalie Wood. Curated by Sonya Filman.
